Willem Boersma was trained as a chemical engineer, works in software development and is interested in new technologies. He believes that the Dow Jones saw three periods of more or less continuous rise in the 20th century. From 1900-1920 because of developments in transportation. From 1945-1965 because of developments in productivity. And from 1985-2000 because of developments in information technology.
